Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford is the heart and soul of Stanford Children’s Health. Nationally ranked and internationally recognized, our 311-bed hospital is devoted entirely to pediatrics and obstetrics. Our six centers of excellence provide comprehensive services and deep expertise in key obstetric and pediatric areas: brain & behavior, cancer, heart, pregnancy & newborn, pulmonary and transplant. We also provide an additional, wide range of services for babies, kids and pregnant moms.

As Enterprise Business Systems (EBS) Business Applications Manager, you will play a key role in delivering on our strategic commitments for Business System Operations. The EBS team is responsible for a variety of impactful, highly strategic work. In this role, you will partner with our business units and executives, serving as a strategic thought partner in helping them to tackle their highest priorities to improve and innovate Human Resources, Supply Chain, Finance, Payroll, Costing and other ancillary business systems.

Currently Stanford utilizes PeopleSoft ERP for Finance, Supply Chain and HR and Kronos, Talemetry, ADP, etc. for other ancillary business functions.

 

Job Function

  • Drive highly visible, strategic and cross functional projects that have the potential to create tremendous value across Finance, HR and Supply Chain domain

  • Lead a team of IS resources by assigning and monitoring tasks, prioritizing, and optimizing implementation efforts.

  • Structure and execute operational and strategic initiatives by developing work plans, gathering and synthesizing relevant data, leading analyses and developing recommendations

  • Insure the successful completion of assigned projects by managing Project plans, Scope documents, Budgets, Business Requirements, Technical requirements, Training Materials, Transition Documentation, Stakeholder Communications, and Support plans

  • Ensure project schedules, risks and issues are being maintained. Ensure resource assignments are clear, well understood, and up-to-date Coordinate dependencies, critical path items, and resource allocations across projects

  • Coordinate with the Infrastructure, Network , Server as well as other IT teams, for communication efforts as well as project execution efforts

  • Responsible for defining the goal and direction of the Business Systems operations including analysis, design, implementation, and evaluation.

  • Responsible for managing a core functional team of IS professionals to deliver on project deadlines, issue resolution, and run-the-business operations while monitoring performance and personnel development.

  • Assists Business System Directors and/or leadership with understanding and implementing both technical and process standards in support of operational needs and departmental budget planning and management.

  • Works collaboratively with outside vendors

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field

Experience5+ years business systems operations, Production Support, Implementations and Upgrade experience in HR, Supply Chain and Financial Systems ( Preferably PeopleSoft). Experience with PeopleSoft Integration tools (using PeopleTools 8.53 or higher) like Integration Broker in building real-time and batch interfaces with other PeopleSoft and non-PeopleSoft systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Exceptional problem-solving, business judgment, and analytical skills

  • Experience managing ERP Development Lifecycles

  • Strong technical skills including developing PeopleSoft upgrade paths (including Tools).

  • Capable of building strong relationships up, down, and sideways in the organization

  • Prior business projects including business workflows and process flow implementations

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time

  • Ability in resolving Service Requests (SR) through Unit, System, Integration, and User Acceptance, test phases

  • Strong analytical, solution design and process design skills

  • Strong communication skills with ability to clearly explain complex issues to a range of audiences

  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and conflict resolution skills
