Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford is a world-renowned pediatric medical center specializing in the care of critically-ill children and newborns. One of the missions of Stanford Children’s Health is to train professionals in state-of-the-art care for seriously ill children and their families. We are pleased to announce a unique educational opportunity for advanced training in Palliative Care and Bereavement clinical social work through a full-year Post-Master’s Clinical Social Work Fellowship in the Family Guidance and Bereavement Program at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. The Family Guidance and Bereavement Program provides anticipatory grief counseling and bereavement counseling to family members who have a terminally ill child at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. The program also provides anticipatory grief counseling and bereavement counseling for children who have a terminally ill parent being cared for in Stanford Hospital.
The Post-Master’s Social Work Fellowship will develop advanced skills in psychosocial assessments, ongoing supportive counseling, crisis intervention, acute grief and bereavement counseling, patient advocacy, practical resource assistance, and coordination of care to patients and families. The Fellow will receive excellent clinical supervision from an experienced senior L.C.S.W. All Fellowship hours will apply towards the Board of Behavioral Science requirement for licensure eligibility in California. In addition, the Fellow will benefit from numerous other training opportunities.
This is a part time (32hrs/week), paid and benefited twelve-month Fellowship. The annual stipend is $45,000, and the Fellow is also eligible for $2,000 in continuing education reimbursement. Previous Fellows have also qualified for student loan repayment deferment for the duration of the Fellowship.
