Job Summary

Under supervision of the Unified Communications Manager, the Audio Visual Engineer is responsible for operational oversight of all IS Audio Visual solutions. These solutions include all technologies and services required for the enablement of secure and non-secure video and messaging communications. 

The IS Audio Visual Engineer will work with service leads and technology owners to guide continuous improvements (using Lean and other process improvement techniques) to Unified Communications processes. Additionally, in collaboration with other subject matter experts, the IS Audio Visual Engineer will assist in the documentation of the current architectures.

This person must work seamlessly and effectively with clinical and non-clinical team members from all levels of the organization in order to achieve the stated objectives.

Essential Functions

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Service Standards of the Hospital(s).          

  • Manage enterprise network audio-video-related projects and develop appropriate documentation.

  • Troubleshoot video issues on network and report progress on various projects and installations. 

  • Drive the adoption of video conferencing service usage using Cisco based Telepresence endpoints, router and switches.

  • Follow, review, and recommend process changes and standards for design and documentation where necessary. 

  • Plan and coordinate the expansion of video and voice network technology. Perform Unified Communications software and hardware upgrades, including the installation of video conferencing and A/V equipment

  • Interface with PMO, site walkthroughs, design, ordering equipment, receiving and installing equipment, and provide support model for equipment (end-to-end management). Provide project status on a regular basis as project team requires. Submit Project Charters for PMO approval. Perform day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.

  • Train end users and administrators on Video platform usage and administration.

  • Executive Level Support (C Level, VP, Directors) for unified communication matters

  • Communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and through email clearly translating information and concepts surrounding IT Unified Communications.

  • Provide local and remote collaboration support; work with remote Desktop support to resolve issues, work with remote users (internal and external) to successfully connect with existing video conferencing equipment, and communicate services between and across different groups and levels internal and external to the organization.

  • Tier 3 end user support for all Unified Communications (collaborative applications and video), ability to perform troubleshooting on integrations and A/V designs in existing and future video-conference rooms, offices, and medical clinics.

  • Support/Arrange Virtual Tumor Board and Telehealth session

  • Monitor and report on IT Unified Communications services metrics

  • Treat all co-workers and customers with respect, and consistently model PCARE (i.e. customer service) behaviors and best practices


Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: Associate's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university 

Experience:  (5) Five years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience 

License/Certification: None

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

These are the observable and measurable attributes and skills required to perform successfully the essential functions of the job and are generally demonstrated through qualifying experience, education, or licensure/certification.

  • Knowledge with Cisco Telepresence endpoints and UC infrastructure (TMS, TMSXE, VCS, CUCM, Conductor and TPS blades).

  • Knowledge with WebEx administration and other web/audio collaboration platforms and services

  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure implementation and project deployment experience

  • Knowledge with setting up video networks that require communication through firewalls and implementing related security processes, procedures technologies and dependencies.

  • Knowledge in supporting system migrations and experience with AMX and/or Crestron AV Control systems. Working knowledge of A/V concepts around audio and video signal types, routing, and cabling.

  • Knowledge with monitoring tools. (Vyopta)

  • Solid experience on Video Infrastructure: Cisco TMS, VCS-e/VCS-c, Telepresence Server

  • Solid experience on installation and deployment of Cisco Telepresence endpoints

  • Ability to lift 50lbs (minimum)

  • Video conferencing technology and engineering (e.g. Cisco Telepresence, PolyCom)

  • A/V integrated systems for office and/or medical environments

  • Real-time collaborative tools and messaging (Cisco WebEx application) 

  • Digital signage (AppSpace, BrightSign), Interops gateways (H323, SIP)

  • Working knowledge of Windows and MAC based OS’s.

  • Self-driven professional, very detail oriented.

  • Strong verbal and written skills are required. 

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Exceptional understanding of the organizational goals and objectives.

  • Strong leadership and project management abilities to lead cross-functional project teams in implementing projects of a complex nature.

  • Proficiency with applications (Spreadsheets, apps, systems, how to run them, and knowledge base)
