The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for managing multiple infrastructure systems (systems hardware, operating systems, and data center operations) and end user computing. Manages and administers the overall operations to ensure the stable operation of the organization's I.T. infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, managing, and optimizing multiple key functional areas, particularly systems infrastructure, server infrastructure, virtualization infrastructure, data communications, and telecommunications systems.
The Senior Systems Engineer participates in on-call support of all critical infrastructure functions, collaborates with vendors, contractors, consultants and other technology groups that operate within the Information Services Department.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Service Standards of the Hospital(s).
Manages packaging / deployment for applications including anti-virus, patching and monitoring for multiple infrastructure systems.
Manages and administers end user computing products and service packs and definitions.
Develops and oversees design requirements, concept builds, and manages implementations for multiple complex infrastructures.
Manages collaborations with other IS teams to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and infrastructure systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
Gauges the effectiveness and efficiency of multiple existing systems; develops and implements strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems and troubleshoot advanced system issues.
Designs, develops and performs multiple server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the organization's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
Manages active Directory and Exchange Engineering and Operational tasks.
Monitors, administers, and documents multiple systems, services and applications.
Manages and performs installation, maintenance and support of complex system software/hardware and user support.
Configures, debugs and supports multiple complex infrastructure platforms.
Manages network operations center, systems applications and services.
Designs development process and design.
Performs high-level root cause analysis for service interruption recovery and creates preventive measures for multiple infrastructure systems.
Resolves programs and issues with availability, system performance, redundancy, failover, data backups, data replications, extracts, and disaster recovery for multiple infrastructure systems.
Manages and administers procedures to solve complex problems considering multiple systems’ computer equipment capacity and limitations, operational efficiency and desired results.
Maintains documented, up-to-date detailed system and component maps of data center facilities.
Monitors existing systems to ensure structural integrity and resolves any issues.
Leads development and installation of new hardware and software.
Installs and configures complex operating systems and other software and routinely test installed software for glitch detection and other issues.
Performs data collection and analysis related to multiple complex systems’ performance.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: Associate's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university
Experience: Eight (8) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience including experience in Data Center Administration with Cisco, Vmware, Citrix, Windows environment and Enterprise monitoring, patching and backup technologies.
License/Certification: None required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
These are the observable and measurable attributes and skills required to perform successfully the essential functions of the job and are generally demonstrated through qualifying experience, education, or licensure/certification.
Knowledge of Full Disk Encryption, File Vault or equivalent
Knowledge to provide technical consultations and presentations
Knowledge of Antivirus endpoint security solutions, Symantec Endpoint Protection or equivalent.
Knowledge of working various backup targets like Fiber Channel and SCSI based Tape Libraries and/or SAN and NAS based backup targets are required
Knowledge patching and updating Windows and VMware based server infrastructure.
Knowledge of Windows AD infrastructure is must
Knowledge and working experience on backup technologies at enterprise level.
Knowledge and working experience on BC/DR and restoring backed up data.
Knowledge and working experience with On-Premises & Cloud Based backup tools
Ability to work with backup targets both, on-premises and on cloud
Ability to use good judgement, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to gain, understand and apply information and data as it relates to Information Technology.
Working experience of Disk based backup with Deduplication is a plus (Rubrik, Store-once, Cohesity or similar)
