Job Summary

Reporting to a Department Manager, the Systems Analyst II, will work independently on simple problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of one or more factors. When encountering complex problems requiring in-depth analysis, the Systems Analyst II will work under the direction of a Systems Analyst III/IV or the Department Manager.  With the assistance of the SA III/IV or the Department Manager, will exercise judgment within defined parameters in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results for the purpose of managing and planning technology system implementations and enhancements to existing technology systems.  Responsibilities include assisting in the design of systems to support defined business requirements and assisting in the implementation of technology systems as a member of the project team.  Assists in developing business need specifications, planning and coordinating client testing and training personnel; and provides a formal support  turnover to the support services responsible for production support. 

Essential Functions

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Service Standards of the Hospital(s).

  • Using structured analysis techniques and with assistance, develop proposed system design and interface specifications based upon identified business needs, employing technical and specific business knowledge

  • Obtain management approval for proposed designs.  Communicate designs to Programmer Analysts for implementation of technology systems

  • Represent assigned client/applications base to the IT department

  • Develop proposed training, testing, and security plans to meet defined business requirements.  Coordinate plans as needed

  •  Work with Account Analyst to identify and assess organizational strategies such as work flow and systems/applications, in order to meet clients’ operational needs

  • Perform the role of project team member as assigned

  •  Assure smooth turnover of projects, both at the initiation as well as at the conclusion, to support services within IT as well as in customer departments

  • Provide ongoing training to clients and IT staff as needed

  • Working with all departments of IT, assist in developing appropriate system back-up procedures

  • Act as liaison between Clients and IT department personnel in addressing abnormal operating conditions.  This includes opening, updating, and documenting resolutions in the problem management system, as appropriate

  •  Remain current in available health care information system applications, business conditions and trends

  •  Perform other duties related to responsibilities listed above as assigned

  • Recommend and develop responsible, supportable solutions to supports requests

  • Promote teamwork and cooperative efforts

  • Maintain a clean, safe and unobstructed work area; practice good safety habits; and utilize appropriate safety equipment

  • Use current tools for Tracking IT Service Requests

  • Follow IT standards and policies regarding the use of scheduling tools, E-mail, Voice-mail, On-call, etc.

  • Promote use of current hardware and software standards

  • Understand and apply appropriate quality improvement processes

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business Administration, Information Technology or Finance) or equivalent work experience

Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience

License/Certification: None

  • Knowledge and understanding of the integration of information systems with specific organizational business needs and plans

  • Ability to solve problems and identify solutions

  • Ability to research and interpret relevant regulations, guidelines, and standards

  • Ability to apply judgment and make informed decisions

  • Ability to foster effective relationships and build consensus

  • Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job

  • Knowledge of new technologies (in specific field) and maintain and stay abreast of updates and changes.

Pay Range

Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.

Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.

Minimum to Midpoint Range (1.0 FTE): $109,200.00 to $138,881.60
