Job Summary

The IT Technical Writer works with subject matter experts to compose and revise user manuals for computer hardware, quick reference guides, software manuals, and other documentation as assigned. Contributes to the planning and implementation of enhancements and upgrades. Coordinates customer participation in the implementation of new projects and upgrades to existing systems, software, hardware and platforms throughout the enterprise.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Service Standards of the Hospital(s).

  • Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia, web-based publications and user sites; may produce content for embedded user assistance technology.

  • Participates in testing and conducts interviews with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation.

  • Researches and translates technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for nontechnical and technical users. May document engineering processes and specifications.

  • Recommends formats responsive to technical and customer requirements.

  • Produces products that conform to the company documentation and quality assurance standards.

  • Ensures appropriate communication and training to appropriate staff. Establishes and manages content across different documents and product types in a manner that promotes consistency and efficiency.

  • Participates in the planning and implementation of IT Projects. Contributes to the development of standards and procedures as related to technology implementation and refreshes.

 

 Minimum Qualifications


Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

 

Education: Bachelor's degree in a work-related field/discipline from an accredited college or university.


Experience: Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.

  • Knowledge of MS Office 365 core applications
